Colorless to light yellow liquid

Useful as a ligand in a variety of palladium-catalyzed C-N, C-O and C-C bond-forming reactions under mild conditions.

Tri-tert-butylphosphine is used primarily in the preparation of mono- and bidentate phosphine ligands in metal complexes for catalytic chiral asymmetric hydrogenations and other asymmetric reactions as well as transition metal coupling reactions. 

This reagent is also used in the preparation of other phosphines in catalytic polymerization reactions.
