Trimeric acid is a recombinant substance such as trimer and polymer separated during the production of dimeric acid from vegetable oleic acid.

It is black viscous liquid at room temperature, non-toxic, non-irritant, soluble in most solvents, insoluble in water.

It is used in the synthesis of polyamide resin, oil field corrosion inhibitor and so on.
